There for a minute Larc, I thought it was going to be a WV story.
But it turned into a thing of beauty! Couldn't be more pleased for you and Zazzu. It brings joy to my heart to know you have such a close knit family that brings joy to you!!!!
Love to both of you,

EXCELLENT work SL. I think that it is high time that these men were called on their own games and shown that they don't always win. Even if this leads to them df'ing you eventually, it has become public enough that people who have seen it will think twice about the WT and their policies. Good luck!! We are so very proud that you are taking a stand for what is right and good.

Shunning and then saying its a loving thing to do?
by serenaj92 ini realized the bondage i was under as one of jehovah's witnesses and left the organization.
it pressed fear, paranoia, and even anger in me that i wasn't used to.
i started to resent being one.

Serena,
So well put!!! I too feel the most important thing is living our life in order not to hurt others. Show kindness and compassion whenever and wherever we can.
Shunning just never made sense to me. How can you encourage people to be in the org. if you won't talk to them?

Mega,
Yes as far as I know it does. Though not very active. It is called Beloved.net. Of course I haven't been on there for over a year. But i did receive notification that Pan the web site director is working by himself and asking for any members not active anymore to remove their profile.
I felt like Thinker and I were brought together for a reason. And unknown forces were working together to bring us together. Might sound crazy, but there were just too many strange things happening to be coincidental.
But going to Beloved to just answer the questions helps you to know yourself better. Well worth it in that department.
I mentioned before that I went out with quite a few men that I had met off of Yahoo personals before Thinker. I found it over-all a very good experience. Being raised a witness, I never had the opportunity to date. So I started at 39 years old. It helped me learn a lot about myself and what I was looking for. And surprisingly I didn't make the same mistakes I made the first time around.
Good Luck!!!!

Yes Teejay,
I am well aware that we are exceptional. And actually it was only for about two weeks that we wrote before we met. I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone and as with any relationship requires total honesty on both parts.
Mega,
I had actually answered quite a few personals before I stumbled onto Thinker. I think his header read something like "One good man looking for one good woman". I remember thinking, yeah right someone to do his laundry, cook for him, and generally be a slave. Isn't that what they are all looking for? LOL. But he directed me to a site where he had filled out a detailed comprehensive profile on himself. In order to look at the profile, I had to fill out one too. It took me two hours and toward the end, I was fudging a little. But when I finally looked at his profile I was amazed at our compatibility. When I wrote him and told him I had filled one out. He shot back a letter asking if I had read his before filling mine out, thinking that perhaps I had plagarized a little. No such chance. It was all completely honest and above board. We have had absolutely no suprises (except for some good one's that I'll let you guys guess about) in the year and half we have been together.
We view our meeting online as an old fashioned way of getting to know each other. And also we feel very strongly that there was some kind of force bringing us together. One of the really weird things is that we were only living fifteen miles from each other.

Poor Ladonna,
I think your thread has been sabotaged, and you were serious!! But I have to admit all of you guys are hilarious.
On a serious note. Thinker and I met through the Yahoo personals in April of 2000. Ten days later we had our first date and I never went back to my apartment except to pick stuff up and bring it to my new home. Six days after we met in person he brought a ring home and proposed to me. A proposal that was so enchantingly beautiful that I cried the whole time I was saying yes. On June 30, 2000 we got married!
We are more in love than the day we married and even we can't get over how incredible it is!!!!! We are absolutely totally crazy about each other.
He is the bestest thing that ever ever happened to me!!! I love him with all of my heart and soul, and the best thing is it is reciprocated!!!!!!
Thanks for asking, I love telling!!!!

Vernisha,
I am so sorry for your pain. It is so sad that many people "judge a book by it's cover". Please though, do research on JW's over and above what your teacher is showing you!!
You are young and there are so many verizons to examine. Don't just limit yourself to one.
Good Luck!!

I'm a useless Apostate :(
by NewbieGirl ini've been lurking here for a while now, posted a handful of times, but this board has had a profound effect on me.. i have just finished reading coc which i would never have even heard of if it wasn't for this board.. anyway, in light of everything i have learned here, i have been waiting expectantly for the next unsuspecting jw's to knock on my door, just so i can er, 'enlighten' them.. about 15 minutes ago, just that happened.
i answered a knock on my door to be confronted by two jw's.
one of them i remembered vaguely from a neighboring cong, and the other was someone i knew pretty well from my old cong.. so what did i do?

NB,
I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know what your background with the witnesses is, but I have found that trying to reason with them is useless. They are completely brainwashed and will have a ridiculous argument for any valid point you may bring up!
Keep your chin up, it was probably the best thing you could do under the circumstances!
